Fire training is vital to our mission to protect the lives and property of the citizens and visitors of Bedford County while providing safe, timely, compassionate, effective, and efficient services.

Training is coordinated by the Bedford County Fire and Rescue Training Captain.

Bedford County Fire and Rescue provides free training courses to Bedford County fire volunteers who are wishing to become certified as firefighters.

You must be at least 16 years old to enroll in training courses.

Fire-I certification sessions are typically offered every spring. Fire-2 certification sessions are typically held every fall.
